The Wandin North community will benefit from one of the largest investments in local education upgrades under a Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government.

From its beginnings in 1915, Wandin North Primary School has developed into a vibrant and welcoming school with around 350 students. Despite rapidly growing, the Andrews Labor Government has failed to invest in any new facilities for the school.

Wandin North Primary is in desperate need of major upgrades and rebuilding. The school campus consists entirely of portable units, with no permanent classroom infrastructure.

The current portable classrooms place heavy constraints on the school’s ability to improve the educational experiences for the children, especially for STEM learning. The toilet facilities were built in the 1970s and are almost at breaking point and no longer fit for purpose.

Liberal Member for Evelyn, Bridget Vallence, said she was thrilled to announce $6.6 million for much-needed major upgrades and new buildings at Wandin North Primary School.

“We’ve listened to the staff, students and parents at Wandin North Primary School and will deliver new and upgraded facilities including permanent classrooms with disability access, an arts and STEM room, a library, and new toilets.”

“Our children and teachers deserve much better that having out-of-date toilets and portable classrooms.”

“Only the Liberals will invest $6.6 million to deliver modern and essential education infrastructure for Wandin North Primary School.”

“This announcement is part of my plan to ensure the children and teachers at Wandin North Primary get the best quality educational facilities they deserve.”
