Montrose Recreation Reserve scores $100,000
Saturday 12 November 2022
The Montrose community will benefit from a much-needed $100,000 boost for local community sport under a Matt Guy Liberals and Nationals Government.
Montrose Recreation Reserve, home of the Montrose Football Netball Club, needs behind-the-goals football nets to act as a safety barrier, improving protection and safety for spectators, especially children, and cars that drive behind the goals to access the pavilion and facilities.
This $100,000 in funding towards the construction of new behind-the-goals nets is part of the Liberals and Nationals’ plan for real solutions to support grassroots community sport.
Liberal Member for Evelyn, Bridget Vallence, said she was excited to make this announcement after listening to members of the Montrose football community which identified the need for this vital local upgrade.
“Grassroots sport is at the heart of local communities – that’s why we’re backing the Montrose community with this $100,000 investment in behind-the-goals football nets to ensure adequate safety and protection for supporters and vehicles during training and on game-day.”
“I’m excited to be delivering for the Montrose community, and this $100,000 commitment for the Montrose Football Netball Club will deliver fit-for-purpose facilities that also keep spectators safe.”
