Nowhere is the spirit of volunteerism more robust than in our Country Fire Authority. Our community owes a great debt to the thousands of CFA volunteer firefighters emergency services workers, first responders and SES volunteers who demonstrate great dedication and courage every day.
Mt Evelyn CFA 80th Anniversary
WATCH: On 11 September 2019, I congratulated Mount Evelyn CFA for 80 years of service and paid tribute to the men and women for their work in protecting our community.
Coldstream CFA Fire Brigade
WATCH: In Parliament on 5 June 2019, I asked that the Coldstream CFA Fire Brigade, which has been fighting fires and keeping our community safe since 1898, be provided with a new fire station to protect the growing Coldstream community.
Firefighters’ Presumptive Rights Compensation and Fire Services Legislation Amendment (Reform) Bill 2019
WATCH: On 6 June 2019, I exposed how the Presumptive Rights Bill will effectively hand control of our volunteer fire brigades to the United Firefighters Union. Since then, my office has been inundated with calls by volunteer fire fighters and the broader community about how this Government rammed this Bill through Parliament, in an brazen affront to democracy and accountability.
